We work closely with local, family-owned farms in Jalisco, Mexico to bring you the smoothest, most natural, and best tasting tequila possible. Only the highest quality ingredients are used in its creation. The area code 818 is home to me, Kendall Jenner, but the earth is home to all of us. So, from the agaves we grow, to the production of the bottle, sustainability and transparency of our supply chain was our core focus. Our tequila’s journey starts with the work of skilled jimadores, agave farmers local to the Tequila region. They identify agaves located in the Los Valles region of Tequila, finding optimal conditions for 818 by waiting for at least 7 years for the agaves to reach peak maturity. Next, we cook our carefully-selected agaves for up to 40 hours. Large stone Tahonas are then used to extract and collect the juice by crushing the cooked agaves, a technique that has been around for centuries. 818 is fermented for 70 hours and then distilled in pot stills. We distill our tequilas twice to enhance our favorite aromas. Our Reposado and Añejo Tequilas are aged in White Oak barrels, adding a smooth vanilla finish. Finally, we package our bottles for the world to share. We’re proud that our suppliers, like us, prioritize sustainability and transparency in the production of their materials every step of the way. From the agaves we grow, to the production of our bottle, 818 emphasizes the Earth’s importance in all we do. Our distillery runs on biomass and solar power, which means we don’t use fossil fuels and reduce our carbon footprint. Our 1% for the Planet partner in Jalisco, S.A.C.R.E.D., works with us to transform agave byproducts into adobe bricks that are used in the surrounding communities. We feel a great sense of responsibility and pride to have an impact on communities and the environment.
